Nose: Earthy, vanilla, mild peat, smoke Palate: Sandalwood, sweet, powdered sugar, sweet berries, oak, spicy (black pepper, chili, ginger), cereal Finish: Lingering finish. Vanilla, mild smoke & peat, more berries. A sourness in the aftertaste. This is a robust, heavily malted peated blend. The alcohol strength is noticeable first, then the peat, followed by fruit sweetness. The mouthfeel is very rich. A respectable, cask-strength blend. Ranked tied for second place among the six samples, receiving 14% (3 votes) of the total votes for favorite of the night. 81% (17 votes) of attendees indicated they enjoyed the whiskey.
