Absolut Mandrin

Aroma - orange and mandarin zest, tart lemonade, sweet grain, vanilla, floral notes, grass, mild to moderate ethanol burn. Taste - orange and lemon pith, tart lemonade, harsh grain, dry herbal and floral notes, mild to moderate alcohol bite, with a medium-short finish featuring bitter citrus, harsh grain, and dry herbal flavors. The mandarin is noticeable on the nose, but orange and lemon are the primary scents I detect. It's somewhat like homemade lemonade with an overpowering tart lemon flavor. The palate is considerably worse, as the zesty citrus peels from the nose transform into bitter pith. More dry herbal notes emerge, along with some rather astringent grain characteristics. This is clearly intended for mixing, but I'm evaluating its neat drinkability. And it has none. Pour it over some ginger ale and be done with it. Or, even better, trade it for Jim Beam Original and create a more palatable cocktail.

It's alright, you know? Not fantastic, but not bad either. It works for mixing, but I'm not particularly fond of it neat. Then again, who drinks vodka neat? That's likely my error.

One of the most unpleasant vodkas I've encountered. Far too much mandarin flavor.
