This is an excellent bourbon, presenting a deep amber color and a rich aroma. The taste is profound and intricate, featuring dark fruits like plums, charred oak, and a hint of tobacco for me. It has a very extended finish with a pleasant, mild spice on the back of the palate. Remarkably smooth for a 100 proof spirit, though it doesn't pack a significant punch.

About this bottle
For its final maturation, this bourbon was placed in barrels that had previously held bourbon, then port wine, and subsequently Abraham Bowman's Port Finished Bourbon. In its fourth use, these barrels aged a 9-year-old bourbon for an additional 3 years and 5 months. Before being transferred to these used barrels, half of the batch was filled at 125 proof, and the other half at 115 proof. The bourbon was reduced to 100 proof before final bottling.
