This Tequila 818 reposado receives a lower rating than its blanco expression. The agave flavors were entirely muted from only eight months of barrel aging. The nose presents vanilla, lemongrass, oak, some astringency, and faint roasted agave. The palate highlights an overly sweet character of vanilla, whipped cream, oak, citrus, and baking spices. Hints of roasted agave appear on the finish, but the sweetness again dominates most elements.

About this bottle
Kendall Jenner established the tequila brand 818 Tequila. To produce the tequila, the agave is cooked in brick ovens for up to 40 hours and then crushed using a tahona. After undergoing fermentation, it is distilled twice in pot stills. The reposado tequila is aged in French oak before being blended with extra añejo tequila prior to bottling.

Allowed to rest for approximately 5 minutes. Appearance: Pale gold with hints of sunlight, legs are not apparent; Nose: Very sweet, nearly like candy, astonishing, confectioners sugar aroma, entirely lacking vegetal notes; Taste: Very sweet (again), no tequila initially, butter and cream, with vegetal notes emerging at the back end; Finish: Pure sweetness from start to finish, incredibly sweet, this is too sweet to be tequila but it's exceptionally good.
A sophisticated Agave Spirit from NOM 1607. It begins aromatically with hints of agave, wood, fruits, herbs & spices. Its rich & complex journey introduces caramel, vanilla, melon, tart green apple, lemon peel & golden raisin, concluding with a medium-length herbal finish of oak, pepper, creme brulee & black tea.
An elegant Agave Spirit from NOM 1137. Its aromatic beginning featured agave, wood, herbs, and spices, while a rich life introduced caramel and vanilla, culminating in a balanced, medium-length conclusion with oak, pepper, and chocolate. April 2016 / 2017
Sweet aroma of vanilla, lemon frosting, white cake, and a little wood. Just a whisper of agave. Sweet and sugary on the tongue, with flavors of sugar, vanilla, cake, and a trace of barrel spice at the end. Appears artificially sweet.
An excellent tequila. It wasn't something I was considering as I tend to avoid celebrity-endorsed tequilas. However, 818 is truly delightful. A perfect tequila for sipping.
