Distilled three times, this expression uses a mash bill of 80% yellow #2 Texas corn and 20% Oklahoma winter rye (Secale Cereale). Following maturation in new, American white oak, the whiskey is reduced to 85 proof using Hill Country Artesian Spring Water before it is bottled.

Nose: Surprisingly boozy for a lower proof, with a peaty aroma. Taste: Sweet, but with a profile closer to Scotch than bourbon, though caramel and vanilla notes are present towards the finish. Not a preferred choice, but it would likely pair well with smoked meats.
Blind tasting with companions. Features craft whiskey notes of cedar. Some disagreeable elements. Not ideal.
I tried it a second time to see if I had missed something the first time, but no, I still don't like this one.
