Comparison: Regular 1792 Full Proof vs. 1792 Full Proof 2023 Total Wine Pick. Noses: Very similar, featuring rich caramel apple with spice. Taste: 1792 FP: A medley of fruits, like a high-quality fruit cup. Pleasant spice and sweet rye notes. The finish is moderately spicy and sweet. 1792 FP TW Pick: Similar fruit notes but twice the rye content. Less sweet and rich than the standard 1792 FP, but with a more focused profile. I would have believed you if you had told me this was a rye. I didn't expect so much variation within the 1792 line, but this is certainly distinct. Scores are quite close, but tonight, the standard 1792 Full Proof wins. It delivers exactly what I seek in a 1792 - rated 8.4/10 (TW pick: 8.3/10).

Nose - significant caramel and cinnamon, sweet vanilla, some dried fruit, a hint of ripe banana Palate - oily, with caramel and considerable oak spice and tannins Finish - warm and lingering, leaving a dry sensation at the back of your tongue
Light and mellow. Not overly sweet or complex. A good choice for sipping leisurely, perhaps before sleep. I will savor this. Rest in peace, Daisy.
Sampled the 2017 expression recently from a friend's collection. Excellent value for the price.
Incredibly strong. It took me an hour to finish a neat serving.
Spicy. Best with ice.
