Served neat in a Glencairn. The first whiff offers a young tequila scent, which fades with more sniffs until it's almost menthol-like after a few deep breaths. The legs move slowly or halt midway down the glass. My mouth feels very dry and slick. It doesn't have that syrupy taste often found in inexpensive kirsch. Instead, there's a stone fruit and subtle cherry essence, with just enough warmth to cause a slight tingle. Adding a small amount of water revived the agave scent and a bit of the same flavor, plus the cherry pit notes. The finish is pleasantly warm and peppery, lasting for a minute or two. I bought a 750ml bottle at a supermarket in Germany for €7. I'll likely grab a couple more on my next regular trip to Germany. A fantastic Kirschwasser.
