About this bottle
Sasanokawa Shuzo, operating since 1765, is among Japan's "ji-whisky" makers, small distilleries with existing sake and shochu operations. The Yamazakura brand offers few whisky selections, with most staying within Japan, including this one. After an initial 15-year maturation in oak, this Pure Malt undergoes a double-barreling process, resting in tanks before a finish in sherry casks. It is offered at cask strength (59% ABV), unfiltered, and without added color, with only 20 bottles made available for the Japanese market.
