I've had this bottle since its release and decided to enjoy it on vacation with a friend. You can tell it was bottled at a low proof. The smooth, balanced palate was nice, with vanilla being the primary flavor. It was still a very enjoyable bottle.

About this bottle
The fourth release in Woodford Reserve's Master's Collection, the 1838 Sweet Mash, arrived in 2008. This limited production whiskey was made using a fresh grain mash ('sweet' mash) rather than the traditional method of using previously distilled grains ('sour' mash). It was bottled at 43.2% ABV and does not carry an age statement.
