Significant alcohol burn upfront. Notes of leather, stone fruit, oak, and caramel are present. The alcohol overshadows the other elements. I prefer the 10 year expression, which, unexpectedly, seems milder...
This particular selection presents a familiar profile with a layer of charred wood that is almost overpowering, but not quite. I found it very enjoyable.
The nose offers a pleasant, unique citrus, but the finish has an off-putting musty cotton ball note and an alcohol burn.
Delicious, though perhaps not justifying the cost
