Nannie Ngo 1.5

It smells like sweet whipped cream, but not too much. The first taste is cotton candy, followed by a bitter artificial sweetener and alcohol flavor. It's unpleasant, similar to sugar-free gum. The texture is modest and somewhat thick, possibly from added sugar water. The entire experience feels artificial, making it difficult to pair. Hints of vanilla appear, but it's predominantly a bad, artificial flavor, comparable to pear. The aroma is vanilla with a creamy soda undertone, very sweet. It tastes like cream soda jelly beans, intensely sweet with just enough creamy soda depth. It successfully captures the cream soda essence with alcohol. Some metallic and rubbery notes from the alcohol are present but not overwhelming. This is among the better Veil flavored vodkas, superior to a 5. The alcohol becomes noticeable, adding a slight soapy note, though it's minor. It's better than the citron version, though perhaps not as good as the peach. Minor flaws prevent it from reaching peach's quality, but it's close. The soapiness is the deciding factor. An 8 seems appropriate, but I might lower it to a 7 due to the soap. It falls between a 7 and an 8. Ultimately, I'm dropping the score to a 7. It's challenging to find uses for, but it ranks among the better Veil products.

The smell is like white buttercream frosting and white cake. There's a little bit of ethanol. The flavors hit first with a very sweet note, then alcohol comes crashing in. Whipped cream takes over for the buttercream while the birthday cake remains. It's like a cupcake in a glass. It's not too bad for what it is.

Delia Herbert 2.5

A flavored Vodka from Minnesota created with American wheat, local water & flavoring; distilled 5 times & charcoal filtered. It has an artificial origin; a rich maturation adds notes of whipped cream; leading to a sweet, medium-length finish. February 2023
