4/23: The aroma isn't just pineapple; it's like a Piña Colada with a creamy coconut scent. It smells like this, and with a bit of coconut milk, it could be a good drink on its own. The palate is quite sweet and has a creamy quality, similar to Nigori sake. The pineapple and coconut flavors are prominent. It might still have alcohol presence with some odd flavors like a hint of cherry cough syrup, some metallic notes, and a touch of artificial sweeteners. Yes, it does. It doesn't taste too bad, but it's not a highlight. A touch of mushroom emerges with the coconut umami, and the overall profile is just strange. This is quite similar in quality to the peach expression. However, the peach is still slightly better. This is on par with the Citron. Actually, Citron is a bit better. This is right alongside Pear. The nose smells like underripe pineapple coated in tar, possibly with some fennel. It has a good core, but some flaws at the edges. The palate is worse, with more alcohol and a slightly young corn whiskey sweetness (without the grainy texture, just the off-sweetness). The combination of underripe pineapple with the artificial caramel sweetness of young whiskey and a tarry palate isn't as good as the already questionable nose, though it's not a complete failure. It's really quite bad. Definitely below a 5. Perhaps a 3 or 4. I'm thinking 3 now. It might truly be a complete failure.
