Rickey Herbert 1.8

Appearance: An artificial orange/red color. It looks exactly like cough syrup. Aroma: Powdered sugar and barely noticeable cinnamon. Flavor and Texture: Sweet and thick. The initial taste is like warm cinnamon but I suspect it's actually chili. It intensifies to a mild black pepper heat, especially on the sides of the tongue, causing salivation and a slight tingle. However, there's an unpleasant aftertaste. It's somewhat metallic, somewhat chemical. I enjoy the standard Vecchio Amaro del Capo but disliked this Red Hot variation. Although I consumed the 50ml sample bottle I bought, I would never purchase it again. It lacks subtlety or depth, just a quick burst of sweet heat and an overall impression of artificial components, and I can't shake the feeling that I'm drinking medicine for a cold. Hmm, perhaps that's the optimal time to consume it – to help with a severe cold? "Don't Bother": 69/100 (1.75 stars)
