Bennett Goetz 5.0

The second bottling I sampled from the "Peatyful Madness" series by Valinch & Mallet, this one also featured artwork by visual artist Laurina Paperina; this time it was a 13-year-old Ledaig. Limited to 306 bottles, this expression was matured in a single bourbon barrel and bottled at 54.2% ABV. On the nose, incredibly wild. Men's restroom, grapefruits; medicinal notes. Antiseptic, leather; sand and sea. After the initial taste, I detected a cigar box aroma; ashes, butter, school glue, and correction fluid. It's like a stable yet a swamp. It even smells like marijuana (though I'm unsure what that smells like, lol;) On the palate, it begins with a lemon pie flavor. Meringue and Swamp. Very damp, herbal. Like a rainforest. A pond. Aftertaste has a potent kick. Smoke, salt, pepper. A long-lasting ashy sensation. Swamp. Overall, this was a peaty masterpiece. It possessed all the wildness expected from a whisky named "Peatyful Madness" with a crazy, cruel, and mad label. Absolutely stunning, my rating for it is 98 out of 100.
