The color is a very deep and glowing amber that is absolutely beautiful. Thick streaks of oil can easily be coaxed out of the bourbon with each move. The nose is very strong with charred oak, cherry, leather, baking spices and touches of vanilla, caramel, cocoa, apple and sawdust rounding it out. There is an awful lot going on with the palate but it is all so nicely balanced that you can get lost in nosing this bourbon. More so, it doesn’t make you think hazmat. It reminds you of a dusty bourbon. The palate is very dry but works its way all throughout the mouth. Oak, leather and green apple fill the mouth immediately with cherry backing it up. The creamy notes come intertwined with healthy helping of sharp baking spices to give you a reminder of the proof of this bourbon. The finish is medium long with the flavors sticking to the corners of your mouth while you still feel the dryness. Cinnamon and oak lingers while you crave the next sip. This whiskey was picked by a friend and is astounding. Sold only in 375ml bottles due to it being such a short barrel leaves you feeling sad there is so little. Truly a masterpiece.

You might mistake this for an older bottling. The aroma is dominated by buttered popcorn, followed by vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon, with a subtle hint of bacon fat at the end. Despite its high proof, it's surprisingly smooth on the palate, coating the tongue thickly with a Mexican chocolate-like flavor. Oak, leather, and spearmint emerge. An outstanding dram in every respect.
