Alfonso Zielinski 4.5

Lately, I'm fully embracing some Island Whiskies that escaped my attention during my initial years of exploring this spirit. Tobermory, which has a sister distillery named Ledaig, is one such example. I managed to acquire a remarkable and highly limited 14-year-old Tobermory Marsala Cask Finish, a maturation style I particularly favor; bottled at 56.3% ABV, with only 288 bottles produced. On the nose, it's incredibly fruity and wild. It begins with watermelon juice, then talcum powder, damp clothes, grapes, and liquid correction fluid. It also has a lotion-like scent. After a few sips, the aroma shifts to milk chocolate, savory notes, and a fruit stand. It's all over the place! It even has a hint of merthiolate. On the palate, it's absolute perfection. Watermelon, papaya, and a burst of pepper. Simply stunning, with creamy milk chocolate. The finish mirrors the palate, also earning a perfect score. Milk chocolate, watermelon, red chili, and some metallic hints. It's like a Ninja Kick made of watermelon, aimed directly at your face. Incredible. Overall, whenever I encounter a whisky this exceptional, I regret not keeping it to myself during my tasting events, ha! It's wonderful and fascinating due to its unusual and wild tasting and aroma notes; if you come across this bottle, you must purchase it, regardless of the cost. An outstanding single malt, which I rate 95 out of 100.
