Armani Toro 4.0

I discovered this at the same small, out-of-the-way liquor store where I found the 1983 edition, situated between two other bottles from 1983. The label indicates it was distilled in 1985 and bottled in 1997, a difference of 10 years (questionable arithmetic?), at 43% abv. There isn't much information available about this specific bottling. I am now three-quarters of the way through this bottle and I must say I prefer it to the 1983. On the nose, I detect orchard fruit, general sweetness, sherry, a considerable amount of oak, but more pleasant than the 1983, some honey, and chai tea; The palate is silky, sweet, and rich with subdued sherry nuttiness, vanilla, barrel spices, and hints of chocolate; The finish is long and very pleasing with notes of raisin, spice, vanilla, and chai tea.
