Macallan Select Smells of honey, cream, cherry, and sweetness, with a really nice balance of wine-grape flavors and a bit of lemon zest. 3 Feels delicate, with tangy creaminess, chocolate, and oaky caramel. 2.5 Woody and oak-forward, with a strong finish. 2.5 2.75 Mid-palate, creamy, with red fruit and berries. Lovely nose; a bit dry on a deeper inhale, with sweetness. 3 Sweetness, like candy grapes, with a slight bitterness and woody taste at the end. Likely better than many other Macallan varieties. 2.5 Medium finish, oaky. 2.5 2.75

Sampled neat in a glencairn; received as a gift. Surprisingly dark golden hue for a non-age-statement whisky... Smells of buttered toast and wet grain, with a very faint floral scent. Extremely light on the palate! Reminds me of an Irish whisky, featuring a honey roundness and subtle oak in the finish. Not my preferred dram; it's just a little too mild (bland?) for my palate. However, I have unusual tastes, so it's worth trying if you're curious.

A very agreeable spirit, it presents better on the palate than the nose. A typical Macallan Flavor and profile. On the nose you get Medicinal plants, Coffee, butterscotch, a very Small peat maybe not peatiness but Very perfumed. I also got Tobacco notes. On the palate is Sweet and Spicy with a remarkable Plum flavor that turns into a Complex flavor of Tabacco, Oak, and Cinnabon. Short finish but Very pleasant

Prominent sherry notes deliver immediate dry berry flavors, while American oak and wood spice remain subtle in the background. A faint hint of grass and bitter notes from the American oak appear after the finish, like chewing on grass. For me, it's not worth over $100 NZD. It should be priced around $65, but it's Macallan, so...

A delightful pour with a fantastic aroma and color. The nose offers distinct butterscotch, toffee, and honey. The palate is warm, rich, chewy, and wonderful. Long legs indicate a great whisky. Notes of caramel, vanilla, and honey. The finish is long-lasting with a pleasant spicy bite and lingering aftertaste. Could easily be an everyday dram!

The nose offers fruity, citrusy, sweet notes with a hint of floral in the background. Apple, lemon, and fresh grass are noticeable. The palate is light, with a touch of spice and honey, leading to a medium to long finish characterized by notes of caramel and nuts. An ideal whisky to pair with fine chocolate.
