The aroma is minimal. Mild caramel notes are present. The palate mirrors the nose, with subtle caramel that's difficult to discern. The finish is bitter, akin to coffee bitterness but lacking its complexity. After a few sips, saltiness becomes the dominant taste, more pronounced than in a Talisker. While I appreciate Macallan, this particular expression was disappointing.
