Nose: Citrus zest! Roasted pineapple! Spice notes of ginger, clove, cinnamon, and cardamom. Light and airy. Palate: Smooth entry, brown sugar sweetness, chunks of pineapple, cinnamon, clove, cola, exotic fruits, and a hint of milky coffee. The mouthfeel is delicate and quite pleasing. Finish: Moderate length: Faint warm spices and tropical fruits. This spiced spirit from Duppy Share offers a gentle kick, differing significantly from most overly spiced options. It stands out as a pleasant alternative to the usual heavily sweetened, artificial-tasting spiced rums. Its character reminds me of a lighter version of another spiced pineapple spirit, focusing on bright citrus and subtle spice without being overwhelming. The aroma even has a gin-like quality. My hesitation lies in its utility. While it's perfectly drinkable on its own or mixed, there are numerous other spirits I'd reach for in those situations. Among the brand's offerings, this particular expression won't be a repeat purchase for me. It's not flawed, simply unnecessary for my collection. Rating: 83/100 (3.5 stars)
