(Good Spirits Co. Glasgow – Virtual Ardnamurchan & Adelphi Tasting, 01 April 2022. Hosted by GSC, and presented by Graeme Mackay and Connal MacKenzie from Adelphi). Aroma: Very sweet. Hairspray, confectionery for children (fruit salad, apple sours & pear drops), orange peel Palate: Salted caramel, lemon, tropical fruit, black tea, white pepper, very sherry-forward. Lightly spicy (allspice), coconut Finish: Medium-short finish. Slightly sour, currants, dried fruit, dry baking spices, a hint of leather. Tannic on the aftertaste. First-fill Oloroso sherry cask for the entire maturation. Cask: 709000 Strong cask influence. Quite well-balanced in its sherry notes, though a bit 'hot' on the initial palate. Abundant dried fruit and light spices. A respectable dram. One bottle was retrieved from the Adelphi archives for the tasting, so it is no longer available for purchase (unless found on the secondary market). It tied for fourth place out of the six samples, receiving 9% of the votes for favorite of the night. 89% of attendees indicated they enjoyed the whisky.
