Tamdhu 10 Year Old 2013 (cask 800069) - Infrequent Flyers

Aroma - A wave of sherry, with PX character immediately identifiable. Caramel syrup, dark honey, cough syrup, dates, cane sugar, dark chocolate, cherry confit. Minor signs of a young spirit are present, but this could also stem from the high ABV. Later, notes of Christmas cake and pomegranate juice emerge. Almost no trace of the original newmake. Taste - Average density but with a very high flavor concentration. More tart notes than in the aroma – orange jam, sour cherry, sweet and sour berries. Develops into dark chocolate, black tea, licorice. Becomes more syrupy and chocolatey with water. Finish - A long and consistent continuation of the sweet and sour taste. Additionally, there's a slight oak bitterness with tobacco, reminiscent of balsamic notes often found in aged cognacs. Water slightly softens and simplifies the aftertaste. Once again, another outstanding bottling from the Infrequent Flyers collection; I haven't been disappointed by any of them. A clear inheritance from his father Billy is evident in Alister Walker's work. For the price, if you desire a sherry bomb, this is an exceptional choice.
