Strathisla 2003 13 Year The Distillery Reserve Collection

This is another offering from the wonderful "The Distillery Reserve Collection," this time featuring the core of every Chivas Regal, the Strathisla Single Malt. A 13-year-old whisky, cask strength, single cask, a true rarity and a delightful find. The bottle is 58.3% ABV with a very reddish hue. On the nose: Pedro Ximenez sherry. I'm not sure if PX was used, but it definitely carries its scent. Berries. Marmalade. Sherriness. The palate is exceptionally SMOOTH. A genuine Sherry bomb. Chocolate. Figs. Marmalade and Dark chocolate. Unbelievable. The aftertaste is perfect. A raisin, plum, blackberry jam explosion. Overall, this is such an incredible dram. 5 stars without question. Very enjoyable, with no perceptible alcohol at this high proof; my score is 97 out of 100.
