Created for Total Wine & More No Age Statement 58.66% alcohol by volume; 117.32 proof Original cost $99.99; Discounted price $85.99 Opened for 2 months Smell - Caramel, vanilla, cinnamon, black cherry, subtle maple, subtle oak, and moderate ethanol. A very standard smell. Taste - Mixed berries, stewed apples, cinnamon, dark honey, Luxardo cherries, toasted vanilla, and oolong tea. The finish is medium with sweet oak, pie crust, Luxardo cherry syrup, peanut brittle, and moderate ethanol. This is my first Stellum selection in a while, and it's good. The flavors are typical bourbon, executed better than many other blenders and non-distiller producers. It's a 4-star bourbon, but I'm docking it slightly because of the initial price. For $100, I expect more clarity on the components in this bottle. Barrell is more forthcoming with information about Barrell than they are with Stellum. The real question is, why should I pay the suggested retail price of $100 for this when I can find Barrell Bourbon batches for $80?
