Springbank's 'little critter' - a pointless venture or a much-needed member of their main lineup? The aroma presents honeydew melon, lemon zest, and persimmon mingled with sourdough, marzipan, and a hint of ice wine. It carries a mild peat presence and is quite pure. A pleasant wave of citrus and exotic fruits arrives, succeeded by ripe pears, spicy pepper notes, and a substantial peat presence. A purely spirit-forward malt, devoid of any oddity. Sweet pineapple, ash, and savory undertones persist in the pleasant, warming conclusion. The excellence of their distillate is the deciding factor - and it is top-notch.
