It begins with intense ash and a hint of brine, evoking a nighttime beach scene with a fading bonfire. As it sits, a fresh, fruity sweetness emerges, like an overripe plum, transitioning to toasted vanilla marshmallow on the palate. The smokiness persists with stewed dark fruit, leading to a long and complex finish that keeps me wanting more long after the last sip. I can't stop smelling it. A true revelation, and undoubtedly the finest single malt I've experienced.
