Toby Rutledge 2.5

A quick review from the Virginia Spirits Expo: Reservoir claims Holland's Ghost is a three-year aged bourbon with an additional two years of finishing in stout barrels from local breweries. However, the sample I tried was reportedly aged for 2.5 years and finished for 18 months. On the nose, I detected cinnamon, spice, and a hint of classic rye character. The palate presented as grainy and young with a brief to medium finish that was slightly softened by the stout. It was an inconsistent experience, where the taste didn't quite match the promising aroma.

Clay Dewey 3.3

A long finish with a strong bite. Tobacco and leather notes on the palate.
