About this bottle

In November 2019, Irish Distillers launched four small batch, cask strength versions of its Redbreast Single Pot Still brand. Each of these batches was aged for 14 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-Oloroso sherry casks, with varying proportions of barrel types for each. Batch D is bottled at 58.9% ABV and had limited distribution in San Diego, San Francisco, and Boston, with only 252 bottles produced per batch.

Althea Grubb 5.0

This batch, with 57.2% alcohol by volume, was intended for k and l wines. It was a sample a fellow brought over for a tasting held at my apartment with friends, keeping a safe distance. Quite enjoyable, and I preferred it over Dair Ghaelach Knockrath Forest. Smells of: Raisins, Dates, Cherries, Chocolate, Toffee, Strawberries, Raspberries, Mangoes, Papayas, Pineapples, Apricots, Flowers, Lemon Cookies Taste: Caramel, Raisins, Chocolate, Toffee, Apricots, Almonds, Citrus, Mangoes, Passion Fruit, Cinnamon, Raspberries, Nutmeg, Pears Aftertaste: Sultanas, Raisins, Oranges, Cherries, Flowers, Apricots, Raspberries, Blackberries, Mangoes, Passionfruit, Caramel, Cherries, Vanilla

Frankie Pino 4.5

A wealth of flavor, amplified compared to typical Irish whiskey, with added fruitiness from the sherry casks that provides a really nice finish.

Jaxson Levy 4.8

Amazing. The texture is so oily. A powerful pepper spice hits first, then red fruits, dates, almost a whisper of licorice. Absolutely fantastic.

Elbert Koontz 5.0

All the best qualities of Redbreast 12 with a touch of heat! Among the finest whiskeys I've encountered.

Jarod Valentin 4.0

Fantastic flavor on the initial taste; the typical unpleasant Irish finish.

Loretta Bayer 5.0

My second favorite whiskey to date, it's fruity yet exceptionally well-balanced.
