Compared to Penelope Rip: Smell: graham cracker, honey, you can sense the alcohol's strength, cream cheese, peach. It has a nose that is less sweet than a settled rio. Taste: unlike rio. This has more classic characteristics. I detect some dark fruit alongside the rich, sweet notes. It strikes a good compromise between a complete dessert item and a conventional bourbon. It's a fine bottle. However, it's not what I anticipated based on my rio tasting, which had a similar finish. My apologies for comparing it to rio – they are entirely different. It's enjoyable by itself, but I figured someone else might be searching for a similar comparison.

Nose: honey and sweet wood (as expected), graham cracker, cream cheese frosting, and peaches. Tastes like Honey Nut Cheerios (or a similar sweet cereal I can't quite recall). Very mild on the nose for a 112 proof spirit. Palate: honestly, the honey is underwhelming; I anticipated a strong honey taste similar to Rio. It's still delicious, though. I detect lighter notes of honey, herbs, graham cracker, vanilla, and a hint of tannins on the finish. Overall, a superb pour. When comparing honey-finished spirits, Rio offers more pronounced honey flavor. However, I ultimately enjoy this pour more than Rio, likely due to the proof.

While I'm not an expert, I do appreciate bourbons that are fairly sweet and don't have an artificial taste, similar to OF 1910 and Woodford DO. This is fantastic! The honey and cinnamon complement the more traditional bourbon notes wonderfully. I was hesitant to spend $90 without trying it first, but based on the advice of the store's expert (Justin at Plaza Liquor if you're in Kansas City), I decided to give it a go and I'm extremely pleased with the result! I would certainly purchase this again.

A very prominent cinnamon flavor. It tastes as though Apple Jax cereal was marinated in the bourbon. Absolutely delicious! It's also a hot bourbon.

Zelda Patino 4.5

A really nice flavor profile; the honey and amburana combination is excellent. I'd compare it favorably to Rio.

Reminiscent of apple pie with a strong cinnamon presence.
