We found this in my grandmother's liquor cabinet after her funeral. She purchased it in the early 1980s aboard the Queen Elizabeth but then misplaced it, never having opened it. It would be fantastic if whiskey continued to mature in the bottle. Nevertheless, it's bold and rich. Deep color, with heavy oak and vanilla bean initially. It becomes quite musty as it develops. Earth, coffee, cocoa, cinnamon spice, light smoke, and ethanol are present. It has a strong woody finish that lasts a good while. Quite unique for a Scotch, and I'm pleased to have sampled a piece of history.
