About this bottle

This single malt was launched for the 2017 Fèis Ìle (Islay Festival). It addresses recent debates about EU rules that permit only the youngest whisky's age to be displayed on Scotch whisky bottles and in marketing, even when older whiskies are part of the blend. Bruichladdich supports the regulation but extends this transparency further with this bottling, offering an online system for customers to input their bottle's batch code and receive the cask recipe. This heavily-peated single malt utilizes 12 barrels containing seven types of Bruichladdich whiskies, all made with 100% Scottish barley and aged on Islay. Consistent with their other whiskies, it is neither colored nor chill-filtered. Production was limited to 1000 bottles at 56.4% ABV.

Cadence Moya 4.0

Honey is the central theme of tonight's second Feis Ile tasting. It's visible in the color, though it also brings lager to mind. There are subtle honey notes in the aroma, and after getting past the burn of the neat alcohol, a long honey finish emerges. With water, a mild peat appears, along with caramel flavors and a lengthy finish with sherry notes.

Brent Miner 5.0

It went down easy, with sweetness and a smoky character. They should have limited purchases to one bottle per customer because it was gone in an hour and a half.
