About this bottle
Alexandre Gabriel of Maison Ferrand and his rum specialists developed this limited edition bottling from a sample provided by Steve Remsberg, a private rum collector for whom the spirit is named. The sample was a Jamaican rum no longer in production, which Remsberg considered among the world's finest. This release utilized a blend of very old and scarce rums distilled in 1996 and 2000 at the Long Pond Distillery, using both Blair column and John Dore pot stills. The rum underwent 17 years of aging in Jamaica in ex-bourbon barrels, followed by an additional year in ex-Ferrand cognac barrels in France. All revenue generated from sales will support the recently established Ferrand Plantation Foundation at Château de Roissac in France. This bottling is limited to 999 units, offered in 200ml containers starting sometime in 2019.
