Aroma: Vanilla and Tobacco are dominant. A waxy walnut note is present, but it's very bright and distinct. Palate: Vanilla and tobacco continue. Some clove and dry oak are noticeable. It feels a bit hot for 98 proof. As it rests on my tongue, it transforms into brown sugar, which melts smoothly. The age is definitely detectable. Finish: Quite short. That waxy walnut note from the aroma reappears. Overall: A strong start for the 9-year series Pinhook plans to release. However, currently, it's just satisfactory. 80/100

Nose: Nutty with hints of vanilla and oak. Palate: A substantial, slightly viscous mouthfeel. Begins with brown sugar and oak notes. As it develops, the sweetness shifts to spice and clove. Finish: A smooth conclusion featuring spices and a return of the vanilla. Overall: An enjoyable sipping whiskey. It will be interesting to observe its maturation. At four years old, it's a pleasant whiskey, and I'm curious to see its development by nine years.

Served neat. The aroma is subtle, with hints of cereal and generic marshmallows. After the initial sip, a bit more sweetness becomes apparent. The taste is slightly more robust. The cereal note persists, bringing concentrated vanilla, dried banana, and pecan flavors. The finish is moderate, with notes of smoke and leather.

I have a 5-year-old store selection, so this isn't a completely accurate review; however, even at 5 years, this spirit still seems to require more time to mature. The flavors are quite good and are enhanced by following Pinhook's progression.

The aroma is gentle with mild wood and maple. The mildness persists on the palate's start and develops through the conclusion. Not overly intricate or harmonious, but its subtle intricacies might encourage repeat enjoyment.

Aroma: a very distinctive scent. I detect an earthy/sweet note. Heavy caramel. Palate: rye comes first, followed by some sweetness. It's certainly a young bourbon but shows great promise. Finish: short and spicy.
