This bottling of Ben Nevis 20 Year, known as "King of the Hills," was issued in June 2017 as the second expression in Douglas Laing's "Consortium of Cards" series. The series features playing card themes, with this specific bottling representing the King of Diamonds. It is part of the Old Particular line, which comprises single cask releases bottled without any coloring or filtration. The whisky was aged in a single refill butt and bottled at 50% ABV, with 626 bottles produced.

Lightly sherried and has a long duration. The finish includes some subtle tobacco. Unfortunately, this was about the eighth drink of the day. It possessed complexity and its long finish would prompt me to buy it if I encountered it again. I couldn't discern many distinct notes, though. Thanks to a fatigued palate.
