Damn, that hits hard, but it's unexpectedly mellow. The 120 proof coats your mouth with notes of pepper, cherries, nutmeg, and parsley. Old Kirk is dense and strong, yet also smooth. I usually prefer Scotch, but this bourbon has a pleasant kick that balances its inherent sweetness. Sip this one over ice to appreciate the lingering warmth and potent effect.
Color: Golden Nose: Notes of baked spices, flowers, and vegetables, evolving into hints of vanilla, almond, and cherries. Taste: A moderately oily texture, with warm baked spices and grassy undertones. Finish: Lingering baked spices. Complex and well-rounded. Scored 7/10 Value 5/10
