Nose: Fruity, fig, oak. Taste: Extremely sweet initially, very pleasant, maintaining consistency through a medium-length finish that tastes like a full-blown cherry explosion! Overall: I picked this up in Kentucky, and $100 for a 375ml is quite expensive, but 1910 is likely my preferred shelf bourbon, so I had to try it. It certainly presents a different flavor profile. Very fruity from beginning to end.

About this bottle
1910 Extra Old is the third limited edition release in The 117 Series, which debuted in the spring of 2021. This expression draws inspiration from the brand's 1910 Old Fine Whisky. Similar to that earlier bottling, this bourbon undergoes a secondary barrel finish. In this case, the bourbon was finished for 18 months, accounting for the "Extra Old" designation. It has been available since late February 2022 at the distillery's shop and select retail locations.

One of the most confusing bourbons I've ever encountered. Tastes so thin, like it's been diluted. I know it's low proof, but still, disappointed. A light caramel and brown sugar taste with a tiny bit of spice and no real mouthfeel. I'd recommend it as a starter bourbon, but nothing more, which is sad.
A well-rounded bourbon overall. The enhanced char is particularly noticeable in the finish. While enjoyable to sample, it feels somewhat one-dimensional. Compared to the standard 1910, it doesn't justify a fourfold price increase.
Batch 002, bottled January 2025, marked KY-354. Nose: Hints of cocoa, scorched caramel, and a faint grassy scent. Palate: A subdued profile compared to the 1910 expression. Very similar, but more refined, allowing the flavors to complement each other.
I should have purchased more when I was in Kentucky; this is incredibly smooth and rich. It's sold in smaller bottles, so if you see it, buy two!
