Bo Tom 3.8

From a virtual whisky tasting event in Scotland, benefiting a cancer charity. This is the 6th edition, one of 1,205 bottles, distilled in 1997 and bottled in July 2019. I previously tried this at another tasting and my notes still apply: The aroma has black pepper and damp earth. The taste includes toffee, caramel, soy sauce, and chewy fruit like prunes. There's a fruitiness reminiscent of cognac and a mild numbing sensation. The finish has light tannins, more black pepper, and a gentle, sweet sherry note. Very drinkable! It finished 5th out of the six whiskies, receiving 2% of the votes for favorite of the night.

The smell brings black pepper and damp earth. The taste has toffee caramel, soy sauce, and chewy fruit like prunes. There's a fruitiness reminiscent of cognac with a mild numbing sensation. The end is slightly astringent, with more black pepper and light, sweet sherry. It's very easy to drink! This came in first among the six whiskies, earning 40% of the votes. While not my top pick of the group, it's a very enjoyable pour.
