New Southern Revival Jimmy Red Bourbon Finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks

The nose has faint notes of dried berries, honey, and florals, but they are very subtle. The palate echoes these flavors, remaining very understated with nothing particularly prominent. It has a very oily texture that coats the taste buds, possibly masking the flavors trying to emerge. I was quite let down by the flavor profile; I've experienced bourbons prepared similarly where the flavors were explosive, but this one lacked impact.

It has interesting caramel notes and a pleasant flavor from the Oloroso cask. However, $100 is an excessive price.
