Nose: potent aroma of peat. A hint of vinegar, an unusual scent for whiskey. Traditional whiskey character. Not overpowering. Briny, but balanced. Adding a few drops of water alters the palate. It becomes harsher. Coffee notes emerge once this sensation subsides. A sweet chocolate finish.
