Deep dark color and an oak aroma. I've never experienced rum with such a potent oak nose; it's more akin to cognac when smelling it. Taste: quite good. Very little sugar and a strong oak flavor. A truly simple taste with a pleasant aftertaste. Almost no spices. I definitely like it, although it deviates from a typical rum.

Reminiscent of the caramelized sugar topping on a creme brûlée. This flavor persists in mixed drinks. I am not fond of this.
