About this bottle
Mary Dowling Whiskey Company (MDWC) introduces its first bourbons, including this Toasted Double Oak Barrel Bourbon. Co-founder Kaveh Zamanian named MDWC after a female distiller who produced bourbon before Prohibition. This Kentucky straight wheated bourbon underwent initial aging in a #3 charred and heavily-toasted American oak barrel, followed by finishing in a #1 charred and lightly toasted American oak barrel. It will be available at select US retailers starting in August 2023 for an SRP of $130.

Initially, hot cinnamon and cherry come through, followed by a pleasant caramel, brown sugar, and peanut finish. Adding ice introduces oak and dilutes the finish, so it's best consumed neat.
Note: This review is for Mary Dowling Winter Wheat, which is not yet listed.
Spicy at first, then smooth caramel and cinnamon follow.
It drank well, even at its 125 proof.
