About this bottle

The optimal barrel entry proof for Maker's Mark, which typically enters barrels at 110 proof, was explored in this experimental bottling. Four entry proofs were examined: 110, 115, 120, and 125. Each proof was placed into 25 barrels, with all other production factors held constant. The 100 barrels were all matured for 8 years on the fourth floor of the warehouse. Ten barrels from each proof were bottled for this release, while the remaining whiskey continues to age for future research. Additionally, each of the four proof batches was bottled at a different proof.

Kerry Smart 4.3

Initially quite hot, but it mellows into a fuller body with cinnamon notes.
