Mac-Talla Strata 15 Year is a peated single malt whisky that is part of the Mac-Talla line from the Morrison family. This Islay whisky, named in reference to local geological formations, has been matured for at least 15 years in a combination of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. It is presented without chill-filtration and artificial coloring, at an ABV of 46%.

The smoke is noticeable on the nose, yet the Sherry is quite prominent. It has a pleasing gold hue. The tasting experience is unexpectedly vibrant, with light smoke, a whisper of peat, and some spice. The finish is brief and reasonably layered. Quite good.
Smoky and sweet on the nose, a rich palate with earthy peat, and a long-lasting, rich, warm, smoky finish.
