Flavor & Texture: Sweet with a spicy, slightly peppery alcohol kick, then a smooth, spreading citrus taste. Notes of mandarin, orange, and very subtle herbal hints. The finish is long and the mouthfeel is sticky and thick. Triple sec is a vital component for bars, and Cointreau, Combier, and Pierre Ferrand Dry Curaçao are preferred choices in this class. Grand Marnier is technically an orange liqueur but has been successfully used as a triple sec substitute in drinks. Luxardo Triplum ranks just below those leading brands. It offers a pure, lively citrus scent, a jolt of strong orange flavor, and excellent texture and finish, all highly valued.
