Lost Distillery Towiemore

Blended Scotch can be inconsistent for me. However, the story behind The Lost Distillery is captivating, and with a Madeira finish, I decided to give this one a try. The aroma is subtle peat and strong dried fruit. It's definitely unique. Upon tasting, there's light peat, but also significant almond and hints of vanilla. I also detect some fruitiness from the Madeira. A mild warmth follows, and the finish is slightly medicinal. This won't become my regular choice. While some nice flavors are present, the ending isn't quite to my preference. However, considering the price, I'd certainly suggest it if you enjoy smoky blends.

Exceedingly pleasant given the cost, quite robust in flavor. The color is a very attractive amber. A delightful scent, with a substantial amount of caramel and a hint of vanilla. The taste is also nice, featuring some almonds, peach, and vanilla.

This recreated vatted malt offers notes of honey malt, peat smoke, and peppery spice, with a medium finish.

Toffee and fruitcake notes on the nose. Vanilla, oak, spice, and caramel on the palate.

Nose offers layers of caramel, ripe pears, crisp apples, and lemon zest. The mouthfeel is bright and tangy. The finish has a pleasant spice.
