Longmorn 18 Year Double Cask Matured

It's rare to see an official bottling, and even more surprising to find a reasonably priced Longmorn with a craft presentation, especially since it's a Pernod Ricard distillery. The nose starts with lemongrass, Jaffa cakes, and red currants, with peaches, spearmint, and gentle wood spices in the background. Juicy oranges, grapefruit, and black pepper accompany the intense initial taste; the sweet and sour notes are lovely. These were decent casks. Raspberries, banana, and bitter tea subside in the zesty finish. A brief moment of optimism – they quickly increased the price. RATING: 4.0/5.0 stars ≙ 87 pts → FIRST-CLASS

The second "secret speyside collection" whisky I tried at Amsterdam airport was this 18-year-old Longmorn. It was quite a surprise, as I didn't expect much, and this one was very good. Aroma: toffee, cinnamon, red apples, fruitcake. Sweet and spicy. Taste: The same notes are present. Cinnamon, fruitcake, chocolate, and apples. Aftertaste: A little more bitter, with notes of tobacco, fruitcake, and cigar. Very enjoyable. Overall: a superb release, I found it delicious and not expensive at all. My score is a solid 92 out of 100.

Rich and fruity, with cinnamon, cloves, and vanilla. A medium warming finish with spice and a hint of ginger.
