Aroma: Wonderful scent of apple cider or calvados, vanilla, conference pear, and faint baking spices. Palate: Pleasant, rich, creamy texture. Gently cooked apples with sweet cinnamon and brown sugar. Some vanilla cream complements the experience. Finish: Initially a bit of heat that subsides after the first taste. Mild oak spice that dissipates, leaving a lovely finish of apple crumble and custard. The bourbon's influence is very noticeable and delightful. It offers typical bourbon notes without excessive oak. I was initially concerned about the alcohol content but it's surprisingly mellow. This is easily the best whisky I've ever had.
