Aged for a decade in used casks, Laphroaig 10 Year Cask Strength distinguishes itself from the standard 10-year expression through its minimal processing. This whisky undergoes only barrier filtration, removing coarse char particles while allowing the spirit's character to remain intact. Consequently, the whisky may become cloudy when water is added or the temperature changes. Batch 8, released at the start of 2016, was bottled at 59.2% alcohol by volume (118.4 proof).

Intense smoked salmon aroma, overall, not sweet at all on the nose. On the palate it is sweet, smoky, with notes of dark cherries, brown caramelized sugar, mezcal, and smoked everything
