Abel Plummer 3.3

Decided to try a product from a Swiss distillery that's been around for a while. Their description states it's a Swiss single malt whisky brand established in 2007, but the family has a background in brewing and distilling spanning over a century. In 1857, Jakob Baumberger, a newly qualified master brewer, returned home and started a distillery on his father's farm. Three years later, he took over the local brewery and continued his work. The distillery was situated in an old grain warehouse in Langatun, a village about 30 miles northeast of Bern. Fast forward to today, and his great-grandson, Hans Baumberger III, carries on the legacy, producing Langatun whisky alongside rum, vodka, and liqueurs. Whisky production has moved to the Kornhaus in Aarwangen due to increased demand exceeding the original distillery's capacity. All I can say is... huh? Perhaps I got an inferior batch, but this spirit is disappointing. It has mild, waxy vanilla and honey notes. I ended up pouring most of it out.
