There's a bit on the nose I don't care for. Big peat and smoke, just as I anticipated. After seeing the tasting notes online, I think it's raisin on the nose. I strongly feel I like the 16 yo considerably more. However, I didn't mix it with water, unlike at a pub in York. Overall, I'd label it merely "good," not the 5 stars I awarded the 16 yo. Fourth drink of the day. This assessment is influenced by the drinks I've already had. They were quite unlike typical scotch. EDIT: Revised to 4.5. The final few sips were 🥃🥃🥃🥃

The Distillers Edition is an annual limited offering from Diageo, showcasing select single malt Scotch whisky distilleries within its portfolio. Each bottling undergoes a secondary maturation period in a chosen cask. For the Lagavulin expression, PX sherry casks are utilized. This whisky was distilled in 1998 and subsequently bottled in 2014 at a proof of 86.
